Left fielder Hideki Matsui left the yard and had 4 RBI and Ben Sheets mowed
down 14 Jefferson Park batters at the ballpark where the blistering-hot
Tampico Stogies beat the Jefferson Park Penguins by the score of 7 to
1.
Matsui made sure the Tampico fans enjoyed themselves. He tripled which plated
a run in the 3rd inning and cracked a two-run shot (his 21st of the season)
in the 5th inning. Tampico finished with 9 hits in the victory.
Sheets(10-8) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Jon Lieber(4-4)
was given the loss. He gave up 6 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings and saw his ERA
jump from 3.84 to 4.29.
'Everything felt great' Sheets said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could
throw it by everybody today.'
